Well Olympus has me completely ticked off right now. All my docs use either
the DS2000s or the DS3000s with a scattering of DS330s for backups. We are
talking 80+ docs and multiple clinics and sites. Everything was going great
until I had to order new handhelds for additional physicians. Olympus has
discontinued those and moved on to DS4000s and DS3300 as their replacements.
Problem is, they each have their own software now and also require new
upload cables as the old ones are not compatible with their older versions.
And they have all gone to external memory rather than internal memory so
whenever you plug in the stupid handhelds and disconnect you get the warning
about removing the external harddrive which is driving the docs nuts and in
turn making me nuts. They took something that worked so smoothly and
complicated it now. You could also sync the handhelds to the computers so
it always had the correct date and time on it. Now you have to program all
of this in manually and you know how that goes on the doc end. WE are
receiving dictations that were dictated before the actual date of the visit
or months prior to the visit. Good lord my head hurts and I dont think
there is enough Bayer in the world to get me through this right now.
