Then you have to decide whether you feel like taking that risk, that he
actually will send you less work. Depends on how much he needs you! If
he can find someone to take that work at a lower rate, he may feel
inclined to do so, which means you would have to find work elsewhere to
make up the difference. Then the MTSO risks losing you to someone else.
It's all just a big game chicken I guess!

I also know I am getting an excellent line rate from my MTSO and that there is a limit beyond she can't go because she can't keep going up on her rates to her client and expect to keep them. ... Even though an IC should be able to raise the rates they charge the MTSO, I believe there is a certain amount of fear about "telling" the MTSO he/she is going to raise their rates. ... I chose to go with another MTSO rather than getting my own clients because I am now in a different city. ... Even though an IC should be able to raise the rates they charge the MTSO, I believe there is a certain amount of fear about "telling" the MTSO he/she is going to raise their rates. ... just that the IC or sub relies on the MTSO to get them work and pay them what they want without the headache of having to run an actual business and deal with the majority of the headaches that go along with it. ...
