No, that doesn't sound like bragging at all. That makes more sense to me.
It just seems that anytime someone wants to vent, or describe a situation
that really is beyond their control, it doens't necessarily help to have
someone say they must not have good business acumen or their skills might be
substandard. There may be a hundred reasons someone puts up with
substandard treatment, but that wouldn't necessarily make it right, or
diminish the person putting up with it.
Take me, for example. I'm very lucky to work primarily for a great MTSO
(waving) but I have also worked for some not-so-hot folks. But because I
have some strange restrictions placed on me that many others don't have, I
sometimes have had to take work that I would turn down if I was free for
more than 20 hours a week, could promise certain hours, etc. I don't think
that just because I continued to work for people for a period of time after
I determined they were boobs, I was disqualified from saying they were
boobs, or warning others to stay boob-free if they asked specifically about
the company.
You have obviously built a good business that works for you. Of course you
deserve credit for doing that, and have demonstrated good business sense by
doing so. However, that doesn't discount that there is also a certain
amount of good fortune involved. Once you were on the downswing. Now
you're on the upswing. Someone else might be in the opposite position right
now, fantastic MT with good business head or not.
