And our property taxes are through the roof, too!!!!
This is not a major hurricane. It just developed very quickly and has been
a bit unpredictable. It may be a category 1 hurricane by the time it hits,
and the worst problem is going to be a LOT of rain. Fortunately we are on
high ground (11 to 14 feet above sea level--veritable mountain down here).
We will probably lose power for a while--good old FPL! There are no
mandatory evacuations being issued. We will toss the pool furniture in the
pool if the wind gets too strong--we are getting feeder bands here now. If
you don't hear from me for a while you'll know FPL let us down again!
