A shame. From working in a medical practice and learning a little about the collection process LONG ago, I know it was a long time before anything serious would happen - whether or not you were right.

Well, I'll admit it felt fantastic, and she finally understood I had nothing to lose but my filing fee ($26) and I WAS going to make her come here and fight me for it.


Small claims in our state is an absolute joke. You file, it takes FOREVER to get a court date and then they have like 2-3 years of not paying you what you were awarded before anything "bad" can happen to them. By then, if the business is closed or business partnerships change, etc. you are SOL.
