Then you know very little about the rates the offshore companies have
quoted me recently in all that unsolicited email I am somehow getting.

I do question, though - if the issue is with the sending of PHI offshore,
then why not be mad at the person doing it instead of the person who is on
the receiving end of the work? It is not their fault that the company sent
it offshore in the first place. They are just transcribing it to feed
their family.

The one company I recently had experience with, though, had contracted with
a US MTSO to have the reports QA'd before sending them back to me and they
do now have a US team of MTs. The Indian company was paying Americans to
do "American's work". Of course, the QA was absolutely terrible and a few
of the US MTs who I know work for that company leave much to be desired in
terms of skills also.
