When my SIL and I were both first married, we did that to my dad's
kitchen - and it was just like the I Love Lucy episode, too. We filled
that soap container full of liquid dishwashing soap. I think that was
the Thanksgiving we left the bag of gizzards, etc. in the turkey, and
we forgot to put the milk in the scalloped oysters <a little dry, they
were>. We even messed up gravy from the packets of powder, if I
remember right, we tried making gravy like mom did, and thought we
could take the packet of stuff and mix it with the juices and have
gravy. The funniest part is we both grew up to be excellent cooks (or
so say the men, anyway). I'm sure Dad was having a few doubts (and a
lot of knee-slapping fun at work telling the story, all at our
expense). He just laughed and said young girls don't need to know how
to cook. Now that I know how to cook, but don't look that good
anymore, I know exactly what he was talking about. <G>
