Re: OT: Anyone a landlord?

I still think it's harsh.

Rae <who has also been a landlord and surely would never want to piss off an otherwise good client over a one-day late rent payment>

Yikes, that is cold hearted. Onehundred bucks for one day. Whew. I believe in paying on time but that's usury rates. Bad enough IF you are there in five minutes to fix the leaky pipes and downright immoral otherwise. but that is just my opinion. Even the power company isn't that harsh.

All the power company has to do is shut off the power if the bill
isn't paid. It takes me 30 days to kick someone out of my house if
they don't pay and in the meantime I have to pay the mortgage. Might
be usurious for property values in Maine, but readjust your thinking
for Los Angeles real estate prices - I'm not talking a couple hundred
bucks in either rent or mortgage. The $100 is perfectly reasonable in
relation to the rent.
