Hmm. Well, since I have the recording equipment right here... I'm not sure now, but I'd swear that it was the senator herself speaking, so they can't deny they aren't involved.

Yes...it is federal law. However, in my experience, the trick with political campaigns is determining who the actual caller is. In those cases, often times caller ID shows "out of area". And then they always claim that the calls were not from the campaign but "concerned citizens". I think one might still be able to make a case against a candidate if their name is mentioned, but the messages I get are usually vote for party X or vote X on proposal Y. Michigan GOP is terrible for that crap. I'll get 20 recorded calls the day before an election! They're all hypocrites and lying bastards!! The law should apply to them just as much as it does any other caller.
