The same thing could be said for the people who are renting the place from
you. If they don't have enough of a cushion to make a payment when
something happens to them, then they are just as irresponsible as you are
insinuating the landlord is. Those same things can happen to anyone -
whether it be the landlord or the tenant. That does not make them bad
business people, it makes them victims of an unfortunate situation. That
does not absolve them of their financial responsibility to anyone - that
is, unless they declare bankruptcy or something.
