Well then that would fall under the "independently wealthy" category,

Regardless of whether I pay the late fee to the lender or take the
money out of a cash reserve, it still costs me money when it comes out
of my pocket. There has to be a point in time when consequences incur
from not meeting the terms of the contract. I'm pretty sure there's no
lease boilerplate out there that says the rent is due "on or about the
first of the month, whenever the tenant pays it but if it isn't paid
around that time and you have a good excuse for it then you don't need
to worry - pay it whenever it's convenient for you." And I'm pretty
sure there's a good reason there isn't.
