I don't think that's what we're talking about here. I think we're talking
about folks who may get paid on the 1st, and their rent is also due on the
1st, and rather than write a check that isn't good until their own paycheck
clears, they wait a day or two. It may even be that when they signed the
lease they had a different job, with a different pay schedule. Whatever.
The point is, if they pay regularly on the 2nd, or 3rd, or 5th, and are
fabulous tenants otherwise, why would a landlord not just make that the due
date and save everybody a lot of aggravation, instead of running off a good
tenant with excessive late fees and risking getting a really rotten tenant
in there in return?
