The police departments around here are having to scramble a bit to make
their gas budgets make it through the year. From what I hear, the town
councils, etc are granting them a bit more money to cover the unexpected
expense but we heard on the news today that they expect us to have a gas
shortage by Friday so I guess even with all the money in the world, you
cannot buy what isn't there.
That said - Gas was 2.47 yesterday. This morning, I ran to fill
prescriptions and was in a rush and didn't fill up. It was 2.52. By 5
this afternoon it was 2.79 at the Piggly Wiggy gas station and 3.00 per
gallon for regular unleaded down the street. I should've gotten gas this
morning.
My uncle is doing a job in Savannah and he said that it hit the 5 dollar
per gallon mark today and that the gas stations were closing early in an
effort to ration what gas they had left and said that they didn't know when
more was coming.
I guess all those emails about boycotting buying gas tomorrow will end up
working in the favor of the public, huh? - more to go around on Friday. LOL
