I cannot believe the things that I am seeing on the news. It is almost
surreal. Those poor people. In a moment of time they are without
everything.
I know people who have lost everything in a fire before, but it was nothing
like this devastation. They got put up in a hotel or apartment almost
immediately. Not that I am minimizing what one would go through in losing
their home and possessions in a fire, but these people down south have no
where to go. And not only are they on the streets but the streets are full
of water. No food, no water to drink, no way of taking a bath or shower.
Everyone just walking around with no where to go, a lot of them not knowing
where loved ones are. It is heart wrenching to see what these people are
going through.
One news show I was watching, a man came up to a spot that had water in it
and filled a plastic jug with that water and was about to drink it when the
reporter stopped him and gave him a bottle of clean water.
I can only watch a few minutes at a time because it is much too upsetting.
God be with everyone of these people.
