You wouldn't think so, but I wasn't really surprised after past experience. Goes for any negative remarks about doctors (human variety) I found, at least in one forum, where an RN about had apoplexy that a lowly MT dared say anything - never mind years of experience living and working with them. Sheesh. There are bad apples in every bunch and there are greedy people in every profession. There's a reason why they had to make regulations about doctors owning laboratories, etc. Hard to be sure one is being objective ordering tests when each test adds to your $$$.

Exactly the point, Maureen. I'm sorry Tallulah took what I asked as a personal attack. It wasn't meant to be - but I imagine she took her cues from another who seems to rejoice in turning most anything I say into evil intent. I love my small animal vet. In fact, he retired once, sold his practice to those who worked for him, and we dealth with them for a time. When we found he opened a new practice in easy reach of us, we eventually switched back. He has never been on his high horse and realizes that not everyone can or wants to go to any length to give an animal one extra minute, day, or week - and he doesn't judge on that. The fact the Petmed site is of little or no savings to us goes to prove that.

profit, but as the consumer I have a right to save as much money as I
can, most especially when it isn't even an issue of quality of product.

I imagine it would be the same as with transcription. People can get the
same product from someone else cheaper but you may get good customer
service, and some extras that make it worth paying the extra money for.
Our vet is a dream. He gave me his home number and his cell number when my
puppy was sick. He spends a great deal of time with us every time we go
there, he explains everything to us in tremendous detail, provides us with
wonderful printouts of everything they got and why and he has provided us
with web links to look up different things and even told us that vet x down
the street doesn't charge as much for Rimadyl as he does, so he can write
the prescription and I can get it from him. Everyone has the right to
charge what they believe they are worth, whether it be the vet or the
transcriptionist or the hairdresser. It doesn't make them bad because you
can find the same product cheaper elsewhere, it makes it America.
