Re: Dani - question about focus groups

Sorry, I thought it was Jeannie who mentioned a one0hour file

Well, from the way I operate, I'd be reluctant to take a one-hour file of something I didn't know - new dictator. First of all, I won't work until I can set up my macros. A test file would be one thing - test files I did for new client, however, I was told just format them anyway you're comfortable. They were trying to see if I knew the subject matter. That would especially apply if the MTSO expected it back in a short time. I get pretty fast in time, but a brand new doc, I would have no idea how long it would take me and I will not say I can do something if I'm not sure, or at least reasonably sure, I can fulfill it.

First of all, again, we're not talking about MT, so you'd be making your macros as you went along.

Also, I'm not talking about giving someone a one-hour file (especially a newbie!) and then expecting it back the same day. (It's a very rare occurrence I ever ask for same-day service out of anybody.) I normally ask newbies if they're interested in taking a one-hour file and ask, if so, when they could get it back to me. When I don't hear from them for a week or so, or if they say they have to go do this, that, and the other (not related to work), I have to assume they aren't interested in doing any subbing for me.
