I've got several Toshiba lap tops -older models - that DH got me on ebay. I've had very good luck with them so far.

I considered a lot of different computers, but no one had anything but good to say about Toshiba. I ordered it direct from them--which was cheaper than some of the others configured the way I wanted it! And it was shipped (free shipping) from Shanghai, China OVERNIGHT!!!! I find that absolutely amazing. --It did cross a dateline which I think gave it an extra day--because it got to Anchorage Alaska BEFORE it left Shanghai, but I still think that is amazing.
Here's hoping it lasts a looooong time!
