New Computer

Well I have a new toy. I ordered a custom-configured new Toshiba Lap Top
from Toshiba. I'm having fun getting it set up. Have been looking for a
while, but when 2 of my docs wanted me to come in and work in their office
when we had no electricity after Wilma, I went to fire up my laptop--which
is at least 6 or 7 years old--and got the "No operating system is found."
message. I had been looking for a good excuse! My computer guru son said
it wasn't worth spending money on.

It was a pricey "toy" but it's just the way I wanted it, and I should be
able to get it set so I can vacation occasionally and take my work with me.
And, I got a big hard drive, to do my photography, and also it is supposed
to support VR, which my old laptop would not do! It has a very elementary
VR built in, but I haven't fooled with that, when I have a good one
(Dragon).

I considered a lot of different computers, but no one had anything but good
to say about Toshiba. I ordered it direct from them--which was cheaper than
some of the others configured the way I wanted it! And it was shipped (free
shipping) from Shanghai, China OVERNIGHT!!!! I find that absolutely
amazing. --It did cross a dateline which I think gave it an extra
day--because it got to Anchorage Alaska BEFORE it left Shanghai, but I still
think that is amazing.

Here's hoping it lasts a looooong time!
