Julie,

The difference between the standard versus beta editions as follows:

STANDARD
1. Can send one file to one person only
2. No tracking mechanism
3. No built-in contact list
4. No inbox

BETA
1. Send one file to *many* persons at the same time
2. You can track if your file was received or picked up by your
recipients
3. You can create a contact list
4. You have an inbox </mountain.1zvgsd@xxxxxxxxxx>where only files sent
to you by other logged in users will appear here. It will track files
sent by guests as well.

QUESTIONS ABOUT SECURITY

1. When you send a file, there is an option to send it via SSL for
ironclad security.

2. I would assume that files kept in their servers are very secure. I
have not heard of any security breaches since this company started
offering this service.

3. If you are paranoid, you might want to create an extra layer of
security by creating a password for that particular file using Winzip
or Winrar. The file cannot be opened except by persons who have the
password. You then privately email the password to your subs.

4. If you have several audio files, say 20 dictations, you can use
Winzip or Winrar to encapsulate *ALL* individual audio files into *ONE*
compressed file and lock it with a password. You give the password to
your subs. They download the compressed file to their desktops. They
open the file using their own Winzip or Winrar. They will be presented
with a login screen. They type the assigned password. They unzip the
file. They start transcribing.

5. After your subs are done transcribing your reports, they can
encapsulate *ALL* individual MSWord documents into one zipped file
using Winzip or Winrar. They can also assign a password (it would be
ideal that you tell them what passwords to use). They upload the
compressed MSWord doc files to yousendit.com with you as the recipient.
