When I was working in customer support for SunCom (before it was bought out
by AT&T) one of the customers who called in from Louisiana was also using
rather colorful language with respect to African Americans. I basically told
him that his language was totally disrespectful to me, and he has to stop or
I'll disconnect the call. He did ... and he also apologized.

And this was in 2001.
