Do you consider driving a car to be an essential religious practice?
Since Protestants generally hold a position of "sole scripture" (the
Bible is the sole basis for doctrines and beliefs), those doctrines and
practices ought to have some reference therein. That's part of what
Martin Luther's reformation was about... (Roman Catholics hold that
papal decree and tradition also can be the basis for their doctrines,
so my question doesn't apply to them.)
