There are, of course, Christians who live their lives according to their beliefs, but as you say.... My MIL, very conservative, reads her Bible, etc., yet it was all I could do not to call her on it when she was talking about walking out of a store and realizing they had not charged her for something. Didn't take it back in and pay for it. But abortion is wrong, gays are horrible... Yeah....

My experience has been that I have not met one, not one proclaimed Christian who did not have situational ethics. None! Even those that many say are so "wonderful". It is especially noticeable under this current group that are falling all over themselves supporting this administration. When you point out the illegal actions they brush it aside. Amazing. They brush aside their "stealing" from work or cheating on taxes or "stealing" from the building fund at church to help keep the church running in another area. Just disgusts me. I have not met one Christian who "believes" in their faith.
My Jewish friends on the other hand are shinning examples of their faith in the way they live, work and deal with people of all faiths. I don't have to know their faith or that they have a belief, they live a wonderful giving, honest life. They don't "steal" from work, don't have "situational" ethics and don't cheat on their taxes. They work honestly and treat all people they encounter honestly and I have seen this first hand, as I have seen the garbage from so-called Christians first hand. These are just my experiences and I have seen it and dealt with it for years. I have many friends in both faiths and have began to doubt Christians and Christianity tenfold! I have begun to feel about Christianity as I do about republicans -- it's a hijacked religion that is probably phony, and greedy and not what it professes to be. Judaism, on the other hand seems more honest and based on firmer ground. These are just my opinions from my experiences. I think the basis for Christianity today (the churches at least) was based on greed from a group of men looking for control and they got it -- nice con job!
