Yes, I watched it last night on A&E. They call it a reality show. The girls are actually roller derby participants, a team from Austin, Texas. I thought the show was pretty good, though it had too much talking and interaction between the girls. The skating segments looked pretty real. The 'rookie' did some great jams. Glad I taped it for Kristin. I think she can learn some new moves. The end with the rookie and the veteran girl talking was very good and very realistic, from the feelings Kristin has told me about.
Yes, she (Twisted Kitten) is pretty tough. We were horsing around a couple of nights ago and she hit me on the forearm and shoulder. Pretty hard hits! She hasn't gotten in any fights in the matches, but I think she can take care of herself pretty well. Her husband has belts in the martial arts and has been teaching her, plus they have been going to the gym and working out with weights.

I can't imagine doing anything like that, even as a young girl. She must be one tough cookie!!! BTW, there's a new reality show on TV about women rollerskating. Have you seen it?

They do take out their aggressions. Kristin was a blocker for part of the scrimmage and loved the hitting. As a jammer, she is primarily trying to get through and past the pack to score points. She fell and slid into a pole during a scrimmage with Tucson a couple of weeks ago. Scared her husband and me, but she was not hurt. They do get injuries, though. Mainly bruises and burns from sliding on the floor, but also broken bones.
Their home rink in Albuquerque is a bar that has a circular dance floor. They pad the poles around the floor, but it still hurts. The floor is great, though. Very smooth. The girls from Tucson raved about it. I wonder what the skating surface will be there.

Think we could all go there and borrow their rink for about an hour or two? Wouldn't it be fun to get our aggressions out and fall down laughing our arses off? Then the ones who could still walk could go barhopping. The ones who can't walk would have to pile onto Neal's buggy.
....Oh lordy, I have a 20 minute dictation that is nothing but a doctor typing (much faster than I can, too - boy is he fast)!

Very pretty girl, Neal.
Yep, and that really looks like it would be tons of fun.
