He plays a brilliant and flawless diagnostician, and always on the
money with his diagnoses.

And yet, he has a flawed character. He is an addict (painkillers),
obsessed with his ex-wife, antisocial, overbearing, hates to dictate
his discharge summaries, hates ER work, a prima donna, sexually
repressed, bends the rules ...... and gets away with it. 

And that's why the show is so addicting.


It's the most excellent new show in ages. His ex-wife also is obsessed with him. My favorite parts are when he does clinic hours. Absolutely hilarious. Did anyone else see the episode where the older lady had syphilis? A few have also made me cry, like the one with the two newborns where they tried two different treatments. Also,the different songs played at the end of every show are awesome. I'm addicted.
