AH, so it's because it's my statements? I wish I could shed some light on it. From what I've seen reported (newspaper) in this state, you could really never be certain especially with ongoing clients. Just the continuing relationship alone is one point against you. I wish someone DID have the answer so one could be certain one was not going to be put through the process of being audited and risk losing or, even if prevailing, it would be stressful and expensive. Perhaps you don't know of anyone who has paid the price for making a mistake: I do.

That's certainly true. I just don't understand WHERE someone learned
about the details of being of IC (how taxes are collected, for example)
has anything to do with what their true status is. Your statements
about worker status always run to dim warnings about the DOL and the
IRS, but they shed no real light on the topic as far as I can see. I
think Jay probably got some advice about how to run this program of
his, and if the IRS or DOL decides to call him on it, then he will have
to explain what he's been doing.
