I've always thought I wouldn't go to college until I was in my 60s and had
the core of my life over with. When my mom was in her 40s, she would drag
me to her classes when she went back for her BS in education (I almost feel
like I got 2 years of college in the process!) I say go for it! I think
this has been what keeps me going when I start feeling overwhelmed about the
state of the MT industry, even with having a CPC.
My niece got her masters in speech pathology and the field is really hot
where we live (not a large city but huge medical community). The money is
good, you would get gratification from "seeing" your work pay off and there
is job security. The direciton you take could be endless, from working in
schools, hospitals, nursing homes....
Her husband got his masters in theology and now they are moving to Scotland
so he can get his doctorate. My niece's options are wide open even there if
she wants to work (and probably will since he will be a student).
My next life will be in criminal justice.
I hope you get a good night's sleep soon. I got the best night's sleep last
night that I've had since the first of this year. I'm changing MTSOs the
end of this week and after reading the new hire packet last night, I went
out for a walk in a nearby botanical garden, relaxed...good dreams and woke
up without a clock at the perfect time to start my day!
Best of luck with whatever you decide.
Moon
