Re: Word file

OK, Janice, I'm going to try here...
I *think* Autotext is in normal.dot, so here are instructions for that.

Do a search for normal.dot. Copy to floppy or CD. Take floppy or CD to
laptop. Using windows explorer, find normal.dot on laptop. Copy normal.dot
from floppy or CD to laptop. When it asks if you want to replace the
normal.dot, say yes.

Following are instructions to transfer the AutoCorrect... (if you want to do
that)
do a search for the *.acl file (make sure you choose to show hidden files).
Word 2000 has several .acl files, so find the correct .acl file by the time
and date it was last modified. jot down that name.

Find that file (with windows explorer), and copy it over to your floppy or
CD or whatever.

Find the correct .acl file on your laptop. Rename the file on your floppy or
CD to match that name exactly. Copy to laptop.

done. Hope I didn't leave out anything. good luck.
