Re: HGTV Dream House Giveaway

One of the best things my husband and I did was to buy a house we could pay off with just one income, even though both of us were working at the time. It was a very good choice seeing as our lives took a nosedive as far as health and working are concerned.

I have friends closing today on a 300K mortgage, and they are far from wealthy. I just don't think I could sign that piece of paper.

I was browsing through some of the houses the company my DH works for is building the other day. I nearly swallowed my tongue when, with 30,000 dollars down your mortgage payment would still be around 2500 per month. Maybe I'm just crazy but I would never feel comfortable knowing I had to put out that much for a house every single month. I'm always too afraid I will fall and break my hands or something. Of course, I have subs but it's not like I just sit here all day watching the money roll in.
