Re: Digital recorders

I use Olympus DSS recorders and the software is launched automatically
upon docking of a recorder, but you still have to choose the file and
choose download or download all. Then the client has to check the five
folders to see if anything was dictated in the file they labeled
letters versus dictation and in case one of the docs hit the new folder
button in the middle of the regular dictation. My clients like them,
but they have a designated "downloader" they hand off their recorders
too. The recorders can be programmed with the doc's initials so that
the files at least have that as an indicator for which files belong to
which doctor, but the software automatically gives it a number of its
own. So say that I was dictating a file onto it, the recorder would
give it a name with my initials of CEP with a number so that it looked
like CEP3990.dss. If I wanted to give it a new name, I would choose
rename by right clicking and then do so.
