Re: Clumps sticking to bottom

Jim,

Thanks for the compliment. You must have had the Littermaid about 4 years now.

I am no longer selling them. The dropshipper I was using kept backordering, and I was concerned people would get mad over it. I would suggest your friend just look on eBay. They are very reasonable now.

As far as the sticking, here is what I do. After I clean it thoroughly, I spray silicon on the rake and the bottom. If I do get any clumps after a couple of weeks, I use a long-handled ice scraper to scrape the bottom, then either let the rake sweep the clumps into the bin or usually use a scoop. I have a tent on mine, so I check it every other day.

I'll send you a picture of my long-term Littermaid. It is really easy to make. I bought one of those plastic storage boxes, about 4 feet long, 24 inches high. Then I cut a hole in the lid to match the bottom of the litter disposal container. I also cut the bottom out of that. A strip or two of surplus foam makes an air tight seal. I use the heavy plastic bags made for trash compactors. They are strong enough that I have never had a tear when dumping it. The bag is taped around the opening and placed down into the box. I tape the Littermail to the lid using duct tape. My cats were pulling the tape loose jumping in, so I found a plastic container to make a block so the Littermaid does not move.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Neal
