Well, okay. I kinda sorta see what you're saying. Except...I WANT my children to go to school in a better environment than is commensurate with housing prices (meaning, I'd kinda like them to learn to read and write and do 'rithmatic--and not have to deal with inner city thugs).

So. I can pay more for a mortgage to live where I can send my kid to the good public school up the street, or I can spent the difference in mortgage payments to send my kid to a private school.

I also WANT not to live where there are gunshots heard on a frequent basis and the cops don't come.

I guess those are my wants.
