> Do I think people should become homeless to meet their financial obligations? You're joshing right? One of the needs we have is shelter. Why would anyone suggest they give up their home? I sure didn't and wouldn't.

I don't think I'm the one who sounds like sour grapes. I'm happy with where I live and the home I have. If I were wealthier I'd probably live in a bigger house and a nicer neighborhood and have a cleaning lady come in once a week, but what good would that be to me if I had to worry about money all the time. No sour grapes, Jeannie, just happy with things the way they are and happy I don't have to worry about a mortgage I can't afford (and I would wish that same happiness for everyone, no matter where they choose to live).

Where did I call anyone irresponsible or careless? I didn't say anyone didn't have their priorities straight. I said it was a matter of priorities. Some people place a higher priority on housing, some on cars, some on clothes, some on boats, etc. I never told anyone what their own priorities should be. Or are you just making things up again?

Jeannie, you really have your hat on backwards this morning. I think it is wonderful if people can live where they want to and I've said so. If they want a new car every six months, I'd say go for it.

My posts have been about "need" versus "want". Some people (not necessarily here) believe anything they "want" is a "need", live accordingly, then complain about how they have problems making ends meet. All this other stuff you've posted here is in your imagination.

My "want" was to be debt-free, we lived accordingly, and are not complaining about it. That was our priority, but there are millions of people who don't have that "want" and don't make it their priority, and I think they should do what is highest on their list of priorities. If they can afford it fine, if they can't just don't complain and expect anyone to believe that every "want" is a "need".

Hope your nausea passes and you have a good day.

What about those who live where they do not want to and are responsible by every stretch of even your imagination and still cannot make ends meet? Would you suggest that they dump their house and live on the streets to meet their financial obligations of medical care and food and clothing? You are really nauseating me this morning. I had to skip so many posts of yours because it really turned my stomach. IMO, you sound so much like sour grapes that it isn't even funny. You sound so jealous of those who do have nice things in life it isn't even funny. You appear justify your jealousy by calling them irresponsible and careless and saying they don't have their priorities straight. That is nauseating, Phyllis. You say that they want things that their parents had to work 30 years for. What about those who have worked their hard 30 years for things? You still seem upset that there are people who can afford a nice house in a nice neighborhood and <gasp> a new car. Your resentment towards that really is sickening. Don't begrudge someone what they have worked hard for and just because they have a big house does not mean that they do not have the right to complain about the property taxes. Many people bought their houses MANY years ago or were passed down through the generations in this family and those people who are now in the houses cannot afford the property taxes. The same family has had the same home for years and they cannot afford their property taxes. Are they irresponsible too?
