Do you or your husband have a 401K or other retirement you can borrow against? Buying and re-selling on e-bay could take up a lot of your time. Do you think you could pass this home up and look for another one later, when you have more time to save?

What would you do if you needed to come up with some money in just a

We have an opportunity to again become homeowners. We worked hard to
pay down bills and get our credit in better shape. We've been
prequalified for a mortgage with no down payment and found a great
home that we can afford. The only thing is that we need to come up
with $3,000 to $4,000 for closing costs by May.
We've spent all our savings (the little we had) getting our bills paid
off/down. So we have nothing left. We can't borrow from family because
the only person who would have the money is the one person we would
never want to be indebted to. We can't sell a car because we only have
one. We really don't have anything of value to sell.
I can't ask for a raise because my contract isn't up until December
and I really don't think the boss would go for THAT huge of a raise,
lol! Can't borrow against life insurance because it's a term policy.
Is it really a viable option to buy stuff at a garage sale and resell
it on EBay? Can that kind of money be made in that short of time? My
husband plans on putting some of his paintings up for sale at an art
show next month, but that will only get us a couple hundred tops. I
have jewelry to sell, but that's not going to get us that kind of cash
either.
