OT: The Sago Mine Disaster In West Virginia

The irony of it all is that the twelve miners
who died did NOT have to die. They could
have WALKED out of the mine; but there
was TOOOOOO much smoke and they
couldn't see at all. There was no obstruction
to exiting the mine; but the mine was filled
with smoke. And they could not see at all,
and thus they died. But I've heard that
dying by inhaling carbon monoxide is like
going to sleep. It is not painful at all.
I hope so, because not only did they not
deserve to die, but a painful and inhumane
death would have been the nail in their
coffin. I would think that in these times that
we live in; times when we can put a satellite/
and or probe on Mars and send a man to the
moon, that mining disasters would be a thing
of the past.
The families need to be compensated for their
loss; these are poor people; people who worked
hard for a living; and people who deserv to live
their lives out in whatever measure of happiness
they could muster.
