OT: Dog Show

Just thought you might like to know Zandy (Omens Xanadu) won her class and
went Reserve Winners Bitch (that's not a bad name in dogdom) at West Palm
yesterday. The consensus was she would have won in the second class had she
shown better. She's a "back yard champion"--she is starting to "free stack"
at home, and at the show she shied from the judge and wouldn't "stack" at
all. Next weekend we have 2 shows at Fort Lauderdale, so we'll hope for
even better. I'm proud of her.

No, I'll never make it to Westminster. If we decide to go for her
championship I am going to have to have a professional handler show her for
her majors (you must win 2 3 point or higher shows among your 15 points for
a championship), as I just cannot run fast enough to show her to her best
advantage. The opinion of the breeders who have seen her is she is capable
of finishing with proper handling, so it might be fun. Once she has her
majors I can show her for the rest of her points!

It's not like showing horses which I did for years--to many championships.
But, I can't afford that any more. This I can afford, and we're enjoying
it.
