Thanks for the info. I've never used the non-Pro of any version of
Windows.
From what you've posted, it sounds like Dynamic disks are used with
Windows software-based, rather than controller-based, RAID.

Yep, I think that's what formatting as "Dynamic" allows you to do. I wanted
to keep things simple and I don't need RAID, so I just wanted it formatted
as a "Basic" disk.
