Perhaps the AAMT has a guideline on this - they say we should charge
something like $0.05/line and lower our rates quarterly, right? lol
ROFL. That, IMO, is what their apprentice thing is all about. Forgive me
for lack of a better term, pollen season has struck and I am foggy
upstairs. Anyway, MT is now considered an apprentice-able profession, if i
read correctly, which means to me that we will be hard pressed to ever get
better rates because there will always be some newbie fresh out of a good
school that they can take on as an apprentice and pay squat. Of course, I
could be off the mark but that was my take on the whole thing and I fail to
see how it will benefit the MT profession as a whole but I'll stop here so
I don't take over your thread with a rant about the AAMT and declining
rates for experienced MTs. LOL.
