Re: gyn word - cheese-on?

We never got to show that one as he was young when the eye surgery occurred.
But, our other stallion, Ilan (the best horse ever in this world!) loved
showing. When we moved to Florida he had not been shown in several years,
and when he saw the trailer he literally RAN into it. The driver/handler
said, "Now, that's what I call a bad loader!" Ilan loved Florida. He used
to sulk all winter up North.

Did he miss being showed? One of the breeders was saying her dog that
is a champion LOVES to go to shows.

My DH took me with him once when we were just starting to date, went to
necropsy a pig that had been out in the sun a little too long. He had
me stand back just in case (you know why). So he started it, and I
kept inching closer and closer until I was right behind him, holding my
nose, saying "What is THAT?" and that? He had a great time showing me
everything, and showed me why it died. We got done and he got in the
truck and said "I've never been so attracted to anyone," and grinned..
I laughed because I thought he was just kidding about the gross factor.
Now I know he was serious, thinking I'd be good help. Ha.

I used to help my vet do surgeries, and observe post mortems. Have also
watched equine surgeries on my own horses at U. of PA. I guess that has
left me pretty good about not being squeamish. Last surgery I watched
was
on one of my stallions eyes! Had a squamous carcinoma in the lower
eyelid.
He lost most of his vision in that eye, and it was sunken a little, but
he
was okay. We were unable to show him after that, though, and that was a
shame.

When I used to typeset books for Doubleday, however, I got to type some
passages that were gory or steamy or both--embarrassed me to put them on
the
screen!

Typing them doesn't bother me. Holding just *balls* doesn't bother me
a bit (those of you who know me know what I mean <G>), but I can't hold
eyeballs...not gonna happen. Gag! I can't even watch it from across
the room. So far that's the only thing that has gotten to me.

For me, it's the eyeballs. Used to love watching The Operation (on
Discovery or TLC), but the eye one was the only thing I couldn't
stand.
I have to say it was not at all bad when I got a serious trauma report
that involved fishing shrapnel out of someone's globe and seeing if
they could close it up again. It's the actual visuals that get me.

jeanne
(who has to admit the idea of "cheese" and "GYN" in the same sentence
makes me a little squirmy in my seat, too)

I can handle pretty much anything except for fingernail injuries and

do
recall
getting a bit lightheaded and nauseated over that one.
