You wouldn't believe what horrible things well-meaning professing Christians have advised me about difficult decisions I have had to make (not that I asked them -- this was all unsolicited "advice"). Off the top of my head from the sublime to the ridiculous:

- "Just find a Bible verse that supports what you want to do and then claim it and go do what you want."

- "If you want to do it, just go ahead and do it, and if it's sin, it's okay -- God will forgive you."
