That is wrong. When King David committed adultery with Bathsheba and one of his subjects railed at him for it -- a capital offense -- he told the person who wanted to kill the guy to leave him alone, that he deserved it because of what he had done, and maybe God would bless him for his longsuffering if he permitted that subject to speak the truth.
