Well technically, it is not a legal document until he has signed it. If
he had called and said, he was doing this, and he wanted it dated such
and such, neither he nor you were ALTERING a LEGAL document it was just
work product that you were both working on. If it is a legal case that
he is trying to covering himself and knows the documents will be going
to court, then he would have been better served not to ask you to
change dates and to have figured out another way to just get it into
the chart and hopefully have no one notice that it was old or not done.
