Well, I haven't seen the series (though apparently some of my friends are rather up in arms about it), and I did see the Boston Legal episode, but all I have to say is this: Don't believe everything you see on TV or read in a book.

I personally don't give a flying rat's behind, because at this point in my life, I'm totally willing to embrace the bizarro-ness of what I believe, and if HBO wants to put a bastardized version out there for fun'n'profit...that's their business.

I actually thought Boston Legal treated it very sympathetically, though were careful to say it wasn't a religiously motivated lifestyle for them.
