In the link I provided it explains why :) Mister and Missus are the actual
words and Mr. and Mrs. are abbreviations for such. Ms is NOT an
abbreviation, therefore should not have a period after it. HOWEVER,
modern-day has taken to putting a period there for the same nonsensical
reasons (to me).... because it looks better :)
