I know what he means. No, no church teaches that kind of thing, but our govt does claim to be "christian" roots. Yes, there are a lot of horrible crimes committed and a lot of people get loose and do it again, but in many cases they are victims too. Raised in poverty, abuse, and just pissed off in general. I don't know the answer, but prison should provide something to make sure they have a desire to change or a means to.
