Re: Does anybody else have a noisy computer?

Ed's suggestions are very comprehensive.

But before you change hardware, try these first:

1. Delete files and programs you don't need to free up HD space
2. Click "Start" and go to "Accessories"
3. Go to "System Tools"
4. Do "Disk Cleanup"
5. and then do a "Disk Defragmentation"
6. Thoroughly scan your computer for viruses and trojans

NOTE:
I only installed software that I truly need in my "work" computer. I
deleted those that I don't need or hardly use resulting in a very lean
machine.

I also use "System Mechanic Professional 6" to keep my computer in
tiptop shape and get rid of all the junk that I accumulate over time,
as well as to correct registry errors that can result in slow
performance. There are Freebie programs that perform similar functions.

Audio files are particularly large. If you have an older computer, you
might not have enough RAM or CPU power resulting in weird sounds or
slow performance.

Time to upgrade your puter or buy a new one?????

If you can afford it, buy the dual core (two CPUs in one) from either
Pentium or AMD.
