SBC DSL users?

As usual, when I called SBC to raise Cain about being dumped from their
unlimited long distance rolls (I still think this is a fraudulent
business practice, since I told the guy exactly that I was using this
for work and even tried to pay the business rate), I went from the
point of telling them to get their phone pole out of my yard to buying
a new modem and getting an upgrade.

So the modem is here. I have my other DSL modem in place. My question
to technical type people:

Do I have to go around and replace all the line filters?
Do I have to use the yellow & blue cords that came with my new modem?
Can I just plug the new modem in where the old one is?

Thanks.
