Re: Book recommendations

I don't think I ever read the book. I loved the movie and have watched it
several times. One of the few I own--that and Laurance of Arabia--I have
read the book he wrote, but I have a fascination with that part of the
world. Bob and I are trying to figure out how we can go to Egypt before we
are too old and decrepit to consider it!

Just goes to show difference in taste. A book has to be believable to
me, and that one just wasn't! Surviving a fall out of a helicopter from
that height! Really...... I like the book suggestions, though. I read
at night before going to bed as it gets my mind off everything and I
sleep better, so I go through books like crazy and have this awful thing
that I have to finish a book, no matter how bad it is (One exception, to
this day I have NEVER finished Alice in Wonderland--have started it a few
times). I like a good mystery, medical novels, and Clive Cussler! I
loved James Michener--nobody writes like him--I miss him!

I love Michener too.

One book I never finished was Dr. Zhivago. There were so many names
ending in suffixes such as "ovich" that I never could figure out who was
who and therefore never got as far as figuring out the plot!
