Well, that part definitely sounds inappropriate to me. But you already know what I said about a pastor conducting his love life discreetly.
HIGH and there were numerous late-night phone calls to the one number and when they called it, they found out it was her. The relationship was lied about, blah, blah, blah. That is why people are getting upset about it
I would get upset if a pastor lied about something, too.
policy. I know my DHs company has a policy that they will not hire spouses and if you are married to a co-employee after you have been working there, one is encouraged to seek employment elsewhere. I am not sure how that is enforced or if it even is but they won't hire family, distant or not, and will not hire spouses or children.
Sometimes it is the case that a company is concerned that family/relatives/whatever working at the same place can more easily engage in collusion and cheat the company. When I worked at the Bank, I think their rule was that you could not work in the same department and one person could not be in any way considered to be in authority over the other. But it was a big bank and there were plenty of places to move and still retain your employment, and there were a number of married couples there.
But I will concede that with a regular job it is unwise to get romantically involved with co-workers. I just think that a pastor is in a different predicament entirely and the same rules might not apply.
