Life and Times of, well, US!

Years ago on AOL, we had fun exchanging information to learn about each
other. Sitting here with some spare time on my hands, I thought it
might be interesting to try it this way. I'm posting the questions then
filling them in below. Anyone who wants to join in is welcome to do
some, no pressure, but come on, live a little.

/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Let's start with my name, shall we? Judith Anne Buxton (Okay, that was
easy.)

BIRTHDATE: August 26, a Virgo.
AGE: Um, racing towards 65
EYE COLOR: Blue
HAIR COLOR: Mousy brown with elegant touches of gray at the temples
HAIR STYLE: Short and straight
HEIGHT:5'8"
WEIGHT: Not even going there!

FAVORITES

COLORS: Blue, brown, and green. Earth or planet colors.
FOOD: Milk. Round Table pepperoni pizza
DRINK: Milk. Vanilla Coke
MUSIC: Neil Diamond, Joshua Bell, classical music
MODE OF TRANSPORTATION: My blue roan, a 1987 Dodge Colt DL hatchback
SMOKES? Not since March 13, 2000
HOBBIES: Writing, reading
SPORTS: Not even under torture
HOW DO I SPEND A RAINY DAY? Usually inside with all my home's windows
wide open so the fresh air fills the rooms. I then spend most of the
day with my nose pushed up against the screen with a big silly grin on
my face. Have I mentioned I love the rain?

BACKGROUND

HOMETOWN: I was born in Marlborough, MA and grew up in West Brookfield
in the same state
TYPE OF CHILDHOOD: Okay

EDUCATION: Grammar school in West Brookfield, then David Prouty High, a
regional school in Spencer, MA. Through my working life, I took
various classes in California junior colleges, a longer course in
computer programming that I loved, and finally a medical transcription
course.

OCCUPATION: Retired, thank goodness

ORGANIZATIONS: None. I'm really not a joiner

ACHIEVEMENTS: Well, I've survived almost to the ripe old age of 65,
which is an accomplishment if you knew about my wilder youthful
escapades.

DISEASES/HANDICAPS: No handicaps and only T2 diabetes. So far, no
biggies.

FAMILY

MOTHER: Bertha (nicknamed Tudie), deceased
FATHER: Samuel (biological), deceased and Allan (step), deceased
SIBLINGS: Older step sister, Barbara
Older real sister, Janice, deceased
Younger half sister, June (same mother)
Younger half brother, Samuel (same father)

TRAITS: Someone here once said I was pompous and condescending, but I
hope I'm not. Loyalty to friends is what I consider an important
trait, but mostly I'm shy and reserved.

GREATEST FEAR(S): Driving under freeway overpasses. Having something
like the Goodyear blimp fall down onto me. The first started after the
Loma Prieta earthquake when Oakland's Cyprus freeway near where I use
to live crashed. The second is harder to explain. I think in an
earlier life I might have been on the Hindenburg.

MOST AT EASE WHEN: I'm alone
MOST ILL AT EASE WHEN: I'm in a crowd of people I hate
confrontations and try to avoid nasty or rude people.

SOFT SPOT: Animals, both domesticated and wild

OPTIMIST OR PESSIMIST? Now that the depression of menopause is way
behind me, I'm usually an optimist.

INTROVERT OR EXTROVERT? I'm an introvert but have improved in recent
years.

MOTIVATIONS: Getting my first novel, "Home of the Red Fox", self
published.

SKILLED AT: Nothing that I can think of. I was a good computer
programmer once.

UNSKILLED AT: Assembling anything. I once bought a lawnmower and ended
up with the wheels and handles on backwards.

HABITS: Well, I don't smoke or do drugs. I do enjoy a drink now and
then, usually a beer or something with rum in it.

REGIONAL DIALECT: I do NOT have an accent.

EMOTIONAL STABILITY: I'm stable ,really I am! The little voices say so!

ATTITUDES/PREJUDICES: I have no patience with prejudiced people. I've
spent most of my adult life in a Star Trek world where skin color,
religion, and other unimportant things like those no longer mattered.

MARRIED/DIVORCED/SINGLE: Single!!!!
CHILDREN? No

HOW DO I REACT IN A CRISIS? I tend to "run from the bear" or
confrontations. Thank goodness, I've had few crises in my life up to
this point.

HOW DO I FACE PROBLEMS? I try to make them go away as fast as possible,
usually.

HOW DO I REACT TO CHANGE? I don't mind change too much. I have a low
boring point and don't like to get into a rut.

I hope this is a proper introduction and that most of your questions
are answered. I had fun. I hope you did too!
