NAME: Edgardo Ruben Chait
BIRTHDATE: 03/04/56
AGE: 50
EYE COLOR: Brown
HAIR COLOR: Black, with some gray beginning to show at temples.
HAIR STYLE: I hate haircuts, so I get it cut really short when I get one,
and then wait until it's pretty bushy until my next one.
HEIGHT: 5' 11".
WEIGHT: 200
FAVORITES
COLORS: Emerald green, cobalt blue. For vehicles, however, I sort of dig
bright yellow.
FOOD: Argentine, Indian, Italian. I also love most fruits and salads.
DRINK: I don't drink alcoholic beverages. Mostly drink diet sodas,
water, tea and coffee.
MUSIC: Very eclectic taste in music, ranging from alternative rock to
Argentine folk to classical.
MODE OF TRANSPORTATION: Car, motorcycle or bicycle.
SMOKES? Nope.
HOBBIES: Reading, playing classical guitar, riding motorcycles and
bicycles, computers, fishing, listening to music, restoring and working on
cars, motorcycles and bicycles.
SPORTS: Cycling. Very avid tennis player until my recent back surgery.
HOW DO I SPEND A RAINY DAY: Cooking soup or stew and curled up with one
of my favorite magazines pertaining to my hobbies.
BACKGROUND: Jewish.
HOMETOWN: Buenos Aires, Argentina.
TYPE OF CHILDHOOD: Mostly good memories, although I was a very shy kid.
EDUCATION: High School. Some college courses pertaining to my primary
occupation.
OCCUPATION: Cardiac and vascular technician. Medical transcriptionist.
ORGANIZATIONS: I attend Hope Community Church. I am active in Narcotics
Anonymous.
ACHIEVEMENTS: Staying alive for 50 years. Passing my registry exams in
cardiac and vascular ultrasound. Having good relationships with my wife,
children and parents. Succeeding in my careers. Overcoming my fears (an
ongoing process, but there has been much positive change).
DISEASES/HANDICAPS: Diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, atopy, and
last but not least, a rather obsessive and compulsive personality (which
is not always a handicap, but has served me rather well sometimes, not so
well other times).
FAMILY: Wife and two kids. Andrew 20, and Emily 16.
MOTHER: Nice lady and retired psychiatrist, with whom I get along very
well once I stopped trying to fix her:).
FATHER: Nice man and retired cardiologist, who I also get along well
with, but he lives in Los Angeles, so we don't see each other all that
often. We do talk pretty often on the phone.
SIBLINGS: Had one sister who died of a brain tumor 18 years ago. Her
name was Ruth.
TRAITS: Some good, some bad.
GREATEST FEAR(S): Public speaking, although I enjoy doing it, which is
kind of weird.
MOST AT EASE WHEN: Alone in the garage tinkering with my motorcycles and
bicycles.
MOST ILL AT EASE WHEN: Anticipating public speaking. I also don't like
being the focus of attention very much, like at birthday parties and such.
SOFT SPOT: Innocent victims.
OPTIMIST OR PESSIMIST? Pessimist.
INTROVERT OR EXTROVERT? Introvert.
MOTIVATIONS: I am motivated mostly to seek personal peace and spiritual
growth. I also enjoy my material possesions, but I do my best to not seek
my fulfillment there.
SKILLED AT: Both of my careers, playing guitar, cooking, computers,
knowing useless and occasionally useful trivia, cycling, motorcycling,
playing tennis, working on my relationships with people.
UNSKILLED AT: Having a sense of direction. I get lost a lot. Having
patience.
HABITS: Very punctual. I don't miss work unless I'm *really* sick. I
drink too much coffee.
REGIONAL DIALECT: Not really.
EMOTIONAL STABILITY: Disgustingly stable, with only very occasional
fleeting thoughts of "is this all there is" which fortunately pass quickly
as soon as I become obsessed with something, which is my usual status quo.
ATTITUDES/PREJUDICES: I tend to be impatient with people and situations.
MARRIED/DIVORCED/SINGLE: Married, 23 years.
CHILDREN? Two, as above.
HOW DO I REACT IN A CRISIS? In the Navy, I was a flight paramedic, so I
tend to react to crises in a calm and problem solving manner.
HOW DO I FACE PROBLEMS? Usually with a process that progresses from fear
to acceptance, and then to action.
HOW DO I REACT TO CHANGE? Initially not well. I like my comfort zone.
After my initial internal tantrum (which used to sometimes be external), I
begin to accept things and form a plan of action/acceptance.
